Cosmic Forces Frohlich
Sept 1997 - June 2010
my college sweetheart:
as a strapping young tom--admittedly a horrible bully:
in his "kitty apartment" (the spare bath) in Boston:
always in the background for important events:
with his boyfriend Blackie in retirement:
defying odds - The vet gave up on him almost exactly two years ago!
Rest in peace, my sweet kitty Cosmo!

Whole Mess o' Pickles
This weekend I hope to do some bread and butter pickles with the super fat yellow cucumbers I've just picked from the garden. We just had a big rain, so they just ballooned, almost overnight. One is the size of one of those tall beer cans!
Here is my mother's green tomato crop, in pickle form:
So far we have:
4 pints sour dill cucumbers
6 pints spicy sour green tomatoes (extra salt)
3 pints spicy sour green tomatoes (regular)
3 pints sweet green tomatoes and onions
1 pint sweet brine yellow cucumbers

Little Big Voice
With a cousin visiting and lots of family members yelling all around him this weekend, Django seems to have finally figured out how to get attention when he wants it.

Macro
I wish I had the photograph skills/equipment to show to you *exactly* how handsome this little boy is. I mean, look at those eyes!

From Vine to Brine
Step 2 in fulfilling my dream of becoming the Woman You Want to Know Because of Her Pickles:
Step 1 was learning how to pickle, accomplished last summer with Emily and Amy.
Step 3 will be perfecting growing and pickling techniques.
Step 4 will be feeding them to you, dear readers.
